After giving my new 180 a good look over and a few laps around the patch I Departed Maddison Mississippi with my co pilot my dad on the 9th of April. Flew the first leg of the trip at 2000 feet, just love watching the world go by, lots to see as I crossed Mississippi then Louisiana and landed in Ennis Texas for my first fuel up. Next stop Hobbs New Mexico. I climbed up to 6500 feet to find smoother air and cooler temperatures. Sky’s were clear and the flight across Texas was good as it gets. Time was getting tight so we landed at Gaines muni a little short of Hobbs and did a quick fuel and off to Albuquerque. I landed at Double Eagle just before sunset in a stiff cross wind, and a good landing it was. The next day the wind was blowing and blowing hard and everywhere I wanted to go, so with my plane flying in the tie downs we spent the day in Albuquerque hoping for better weather tomorrow.
